well, this week was amazing.

started out wonderfully on sunday, when I got to go hang out with Linda, that always makes for a superb day! :)

tuesday night, Brent Horst and I started our first Kung Fu lesson and ephrata martial arts studio. It was crazy awesome. We went every night this week so far (tue, wed, thur). Staying for kickboxing as well. I am very sore and a little bruised and battered, but I love it, and will probably continue after our trial week is up. So don't attack me, because I know Kung Fu. haha.

Wednesday I got to go wakeboarding! That's right! went with my cousins and aunt and uncle up to blue marsh. It was my first time wakeboarding, so basically all I did was little curves on one
side of the wake, but I had fun.. Derek & Darren were doing flips and other ridiculous stuff.. good times.

Well, it’s been far too long since I updated (sorry to my reader (s) in Birmingham()
   Obviously, I am home now. It’s been just over 2 months since I got back... wow. Time flies, seriously.  It’s been good being home, getting to see everyone again, be with my family and so on.  I really miss everyone from SOW, but such is life.  Hopefully I will get to see a lot of them this winter.  (Unashamed advertisement: DO AN SOW AT THE LA BASE! IT ROCKS! (http://www.ywamla.org))

What else? Current news: t-minus 19 days until the road trip.  YES!  Me and 5 friends are road-tripping it up out to Colorado for almost 2 weeks… it is going to rock.

Also: Linda is back from China, but now in Europe.  Rackin’ up those frequent flyer miles.  She gets back 3 days before I leave for the road trip.  We got to see each other for 3 days this past weekend, so that was sooooooooooo good.  Can’t wait till she gets back.  Anybody out there want to double date?  I’m thinkin’ New York City for a day, yeah?

Its over!

Wow, unbelievable. Its over... I leave tomorrow (Saturday) at 10:30 PM to fly back home. So fast...

Thank you thank you thank you to everyone who supported me through prayer and/or $$$ to help me be able to attend this school. God has done many incredible things in and through me... I am so grateful for this time!

So, in future news: I have been accepted to come back here as staff for the next school! I am very excited.. :) You can be praying for wisdom for me about raising support and when to come back out and all that stuff, and that my job would be willing to take me again for only half a year.
I will have to raise $500 a month in support in order to staff. Really not bad at all, I'm confident that God will work it out. If your interested at all in supporting me just give me a call or an email or whatever and I'll give you the details.

Had my (probably) last In-n-Out burger of the year today.. It was very yummy.

Oh, last week we had debrief. We got to go to Laguna Beach for two days, it was beautiful! We had a blast hanging out on the beach, body surfing, and reviewing all the amazing stuff that God has done. It was a really great time.

So yeah, this thing is over.. I will continue to post updates and random thoughts and songs on here, so check back often for more fun and games. :)

Okay, so you want to hear a cool story? Listen up:

we were having a worship time/intercession time tonight, it was awesome. God really met us in a way that we have yet to have seen here. Wow.
***begin background info***
today was an all base work day, so us guys were throwing away some old furniture. We had to break it into pieces to throw it in the dumpster, so we had an axe. Brandon wanted a turn (cause its fun to break apart stuff), so He took a swing, and missed the edge he was aiming for and the axe (we were using the blunt/back side, thankfully not the edge) came down and hit his leg right above his ankle quite hard. It broke the skin, but also did damage inside. We think it may have broken the bone. It swelled up a lot, and he had to use crutches and wrap it up really good, it hurt to move or put any weight on, even if someone touched it there was sharp pain. (he's a pretty tough guy, and the way he was acting you could see how bad it hurt) That was around noon today. ***end background info***

so yeah, we are praising and singing and praying and so on and so forth.. And I go back to the soundboard cause the mics needed adjusting. So I'm back there, and I feel like God says: hold out your hands and pray for an annoiting of healing on them. Of course I am totally into this, so I do, and as I am praying, God asks: "If I give you this will you obey me when I say to pray over people?" And I'm like: of course! So He responds: "go pray for Brandon's ankle." and I'm like: no! Yeah, stupid.... I know. But I was doubting, and felt like if I went and prayed it would only be a let down and then I would feel stupid.
So I look at Brandon and he has the wrap off of his ankle.. And God says: "see, I'm preparing the way... Go" so now I cant really not do it. So I walk over, and I ask Brandon how his ankle is feeling.. And he says "its alright, still hurts a lot, but I was just praying and felt like God wanted me to take off the brace." So now I cant back out, and I ask him if I can pray for him. He says yes, so I lay hands (carefully) on his ankle... Pray... And then finish.. Right when I finish the one mic starts feeding back a little, so I hop up and go fix it. I look back over and Brandon is walking around. Yeah. Totally healed.. No pain when he walks or runs...

Well then Watson, what do you conclude? ...GOD ROCKS!

So this quite possibly was one of the most awesomest things ever! :)

I still shake my head just reading back over what I typed.. GOD IS GOOD! GREAT! HOLY!

okay, I figured it was time to update.

so here is what is going on out here.

First of all, the weather is incredible.. I see why people want to live here. :) yeah, its nice.

so the question I hear most is: what exactly are you doing out there?
:) good question.

though its kind of hard to answer, I'll give an overview.

we have morning meetings every day, reviewing the events of the previous day, planning for today, praying over people, etc. Tuesdays and Thursday we meet at 5:30 in the morning to pray over the base here. Those times are really cool, though not many people come because it is 5:30 in the morning :).

we have 4 hours of work a week, 2 hours on both Tuesday and Thursday. The guys work in the morning, the girls in the afternoon. We pretty much do whatever needs to be done, so its different almost every day.

From 10 am to 5:30 pm there are people constantly in the prayer chapel praying over our scripture for the week (this week its Colossians 3:1-5). We are in teams of 2, each with 2 hours.
We use that time to pray for our evening sessions and ask God for the theme for that night.

All of us then meet at 6:30 in the evening to discuss what God showed us that day, and pray and seek His heart for that night. At 7:30 we start our evening worship/intercession time. We use a format called "harp and bowl" taken from Isaiah 6 and Revelation 4 . The way we set up is to have someone leading worship, usually on guitar, and whomever they have playing with them (so maybe bass guitar and drums, or piano or whatever). Then there is a prayer leader, whose job it is to read scripture and pray out the revelations that God is showing us. And then there are 3 singers, who sing in response to what the prayer leader is praying. So we normally open with a couple songs, then the worship leader just play a repeating chord pattern, and the prayer leader reads some verses or whatever, then the singers sing out.. and it goes round and round. Then we also have times where we are all praying for each other, the base, and the city of LA, and whatever God is putting on our hearts. We also then have an open mic for people to come up and pray or read scripture or share what God is speaking to them.
This sort of set up was hard at first, getting the flow and such took a little getting used to. But now we are really starting to run with it. We worship, hear and declare what God is saying, both through His Word and through Him speaking to our hearts, and then sing out or pray out in response. So what I hear from God and declare sparks someone else's heart so they sing, which sparks someone else to read a verse, and so on and so forth. It is truely amazing when we all focus in on Him and he blows our minds with 2 or 3 words from a verse. wow. God Rocks!

The evening sessions normally go to around 10 PM, but sometimes longer (last night was after midnight).

Then on the weekends we get to go and lead worship at local churches and youth group events.

Really, this is only a very small picture of what we are doing, its hard to explain a lot of it. God is changing people in ways that are unimaginable. We are learning the power of prayer, learning to move in prophecy and discernment, learning to seek God's presence. The cool part is, people are coming to us. The last 2 mornings people have come and asked our team to pray over them.. this goes along with some prophetic words that were spoken over our team months ago. That if we seek God's presence, we will not have to go searching for people to minister to, they will be drawn to Him in us. Cool.

some of the vocals are a little sketchy, but its not bad for not spending too much time on the recording.

I hope that helps y'all understand what is going on out here, though really you would have to be here to fully understand.. Well, actually, we don't even fully understand. All I know is that we are following God's leading day-by-day and seeing where that takes us, and its crazy exciting!

Please continue to pray for direction for our team and leaders, and that He would continue to open up doors for us to walk through.

The outreach is winding down, this sunday it will be 2 weeks until I get home. No way.. so quick.

Oh, all of you can also be praying for my girlfriend, Linda. She is in China for the next 2 months! She will be teaching English at a school over there. :)

First day of may.. Wow

okay, so here is where we are at:
Our schedule (for this week) is like this: Monday - wed - thur = 8:30 meeting, then groups of two spending time in the prayer chapel meditating on our scripture for this week (eph 1:17-19 & Psalm 111), then worship/intercession/etc from 7:30 to ? (most nights it ends around 10, it probably will start to go longer as more people come)

tue - thur = 5:30 worship and prayer in the tent.. then a meeting at 8:30, then the rest of the day is pretty much the same.

so its getting good. Tonight's worship time was incredible.. God rocks.

I really really want to thank everyone who contributed in some way to me being able to be here.. Whether it be through money or prayer; THANK YOU~!

we got the first of 2 tents yesterday... Its kinda disappointing from what I thought it would be.. I'll try to get a pic up soon. Its white.. not that big.. but should serve the purpose we need it for just fine.

other news... Nothing really.
every day we have a meeting in the morning, then spend 2+ hours meditating on Ephesians 1 (the scripture for this week), and then have worship in the evening.

I've gotten to watch a little bit of the NBA playoffs, so that is cool.

if you don't think your addicted to food I challenge anyone to fast for more then 3 days..

Okay, so I have lots to say...

where to start.......

well, we are back in LA. coool... We got back here a week ago.. KC was incredible.. We came back for a conference at Harvest Rock Church (same place as the one before) which was on Revival... marking the 100 year anniversary of the start of the asuza street revival. The conference was this past Wednesday through Sunday.. It was crazy awesome.. a ridiculous amount of people got healed.. including but not limited to: cancer, color-blindness, back problems, injuries from car accidents, etc. I was praying with some people for a guy who's right leg was 2 inches shorter then his left... And his leg grew... It was incredible! GOD ROCKS!

so today marks 40 days till outreach ends. Wow.. So quick.

we've had so many things happen this past week that there is no way I can explain it all.. but the biggest of which is that we are no longer going to DC and Atlanta. God spoke in a undeniable way to us at the conference that we are to stay here... so we are staying here... God is already doing some amazing things and I am sooooo excited to see what happens..

pray that we will go full-out for these 40 days...
pray for God to fall on us.
pray for people to be drawn to God's presence as we worship... especially non-Christians (has already started to happen)

yeah... Did I mention that God Rocks?

Hey everyone, we are in Kansas City. We got in on Tuesday morning. Tuesday we just hung out and caught up on sleep (we flew red-eye to get here.. So everyone was pretty tired). Wednesday we had a team meeting in the morning, then had the afternoon off, then went to the Sheppard's house in the evening for supper and a swim (they have an indoor pool). The Sheppard family is a family that our school leader, Kenny, grew up with in Georgia.. their son, Tre, spoke at our school the last week before we left. It was cool getting to meet them, and the hamburgers on the grill were amazing! It was kind of funny because their name is Sheppard and they have a sheep farm..
Thursday was the first day of the Israel Mandate Conference here at IHOP (international house of prayer) which we are attending. Friday as well was the conference, and that was the first day I spent some time in the prayer room at IHOP. They have a prayer room that since September 19th, 1999 has been going 24/7 with constant prayer and worship. It is awesome. You can go in and join in the worship, bring you laptop in and work on stuff, read, sleep, whatever... It rocks. I definitely think you should come here sometime in your life.. Wow. That's actually where I am writing this from (stole Christian's computer).

Yeah, so today (Saturday) we attended the conference in the morning again, and now we are spending the afternoon at IHOP. We are going to Ce Ce's Pizza for supper (haha Philip, now you wish you were here) and then the final session of the conference is tonight.

Yeah, so I'm going to get back to the intercession time now..

another story

so here is another story.

a couple weeks back we were having a intercession time and Rebecca (Kenny's wife) asked us to pray for her cousin (?) who was planning to have an abortion in about 10 minutes.. so we stopped what we were doing and prayed for her.. we prayed specifically that something would go wrong on her way there, like her car breaking down or a minor accident or something of the sort so that she wouldnt be able to go through with the abortion.

so then the next day we find out she got to the clinic and was $2o short, so she couldnt get the abortion done... God Rocks!

PS: please keep praying for outreach funds.. we got enough so far that with another $500 everyone will have lecture paid off, now we just need about $20,000 for outreach.. God is faithful, its coming in slowly but surely.. the "deadline" for that money to be in is april 4th.

speaking of outreach; we leave April 3rd.. which is not all that long from now.,. wow, this thing is really flying by.

anyway, if you can be praying, as a school we need to raise around $24,000 for everyone to be able to go on outreach. (side note: y'all have been very generous and as a result I have enough that I can pay off what is left, so I will be going on outreach.. thank you so much!) so we are praying really hard for the money to come in by next Friday.. if it doesn't then anyone who didn't raise the full amount will not be able to go on outreach... That seems like a whole lotta money I know, but this whole school God has been blowing our minds with how faithful and amazing He is, so honestly I'm not worried.. however, I would really appreciate it if y'all could join in in praying for us.. that would rock.. oh, and if you want to send money you can.. same way as before...

this Saturday we are doing a carwash along a main road near here in order to raise some money.. I'll let you know what happens with that.

Another story

Okay, so here is another crazy God-story from our trip.

Some of us were working one day a some people's house, clearing a whole bunch of trees that had fell down in the storm. They had a big yard, and wanted to host other families FEMA trailers so that they would have a place to live while they cleaned out there houses, but the yard was too tree-filled for that to happen. So we went to clear it out for them.

anyway, so we find out that the son of the family who's yard we are clearing is really sick with a staff infection.. and as we are working him and his mom come outside and are going to leave to go to the doctor.. so Kenny runs over and talks to them for a little and asks to pray for Chris (the son)... so they agree and he does.. and its a cool time. So they leave, and right after they leave Kenny is thinking that he should have invited them to come to the church service at God's Katrina Kitchen that night.. but it was too late. So we finish working there and go back to the kitchen... so that night before the church service, Kenny gets our SOW together and we pray that Chris and his mom would come to the service.. even though we didn't tell them about it and really don't know if they even know it exists..

so we have the service, and sure enough, they show up... (never did hear the story as to why or how they got there... cool though) and so we ask Chris is we can pray for him again... so we get like 30 people all praying for him and there is some pretty major breakthrough.. He wasn't healed physically, but there was so much junk in his life that he got rid of that night... Seriously, after we got done it was like he was a different person.. Unbelievable change..

God rocks.

so i am just going to tell y'all some of the crazy stories from our trip down the Pass Christian.

#1:

One of the girls in our school (Kristel), has chronic fatigue syndrom, a by-product of mono (if i understand correctly). Here at the base it wasnt so bad, because we dont do that much physicall stuff. but having to work down there in mississippi was really taking its toll on her and she was extremely tired and feeling horrible. so we prayed for her and she was healed. not only healed, it was like it went opposite.. she had more energy then any of us the rest of the trip...

God is so good!

cool God story:
on wednesday night we had a rocking awesome worship time and some people got a prophetic word that we were supposed to literally pound the ground and that there was an underground stream that would rise to the surface, both spiritually (a stream of God's prescense) and physically (actuall water). so we did, and nothing really happened physically.. until the next day, when now if you go out into the field there is a circle (where we were) that if you press your foot into the ground water would come up a little bit... weird and cool!

okay, so i was asked how to send money to me:
you can either: pay me directly :), but get no tax-deductible-ness.. or make a check out to my church (Blue Ball Church of the Brethren) and send it to me and that way it is tax deductible. (note: if you make it out to my church, dont put my name or anything on it... just attach a sticky note or something)

cBack in LA.

so, I found out a bunch of stuff today about our mini-outreach and our full one.

we leave this Sunday for Pass Christian, Mississippi. We will be gone for two weeks, I think. Down there we will be working at a soup kitchen by day and leading worship / intercessory prayer / prophecy times. should be much fun.

our 2-month outreach we depart the first week of April (oh, I am planning to go on that, if you didn't know). We will be flying to Kansas City, Missouri to work with the International House of Prayer (IHOP) located there. We will be there for 2? weeks. From there we will be flying back to LA to attend a conference at Harvest Rock Church (they were so blessed by our work for them at the other conference that they are allowing us to attend this one for free without having to do any work.) I don't know exactly how long we will be back here for. Then we will be flying to Washington, DC for 2? or more weeks, working with the Justice House of Prayer there. Then we will fly to Atlanta, Georgia for a couple weeks, then back to LA for the last two weeks, if I understand correctly we will be helping to start a house of prayer here in LA.

yeah, so that's what I know as of now.. I should know some more tomorrow.

oh, and for our outreach we each have to raise $2000... So if you want to pray about sending me or anyone else on my team some money, that would rock.

February.. wow.

so fast, yet so full!

so... Another highlight from this past weekend's conference.

One of the speakers starts his time off by saying that He thinks there are some people in the building who have deafness in their right ear, and asks them to stand. So like 15ish people across the auditorium stand up, including Sarah, one of the girls in our group. So he prays for them, and a couple are healed, but nothing happens for Sarah, who was born completely deaf, got an implant in her left ear, but is still deaf in her right. (side note: at this point Rebecca, our school leader's wife, who is also partially deaf, just gets wiped out. One second she is standing and getting prayed for by several of us.. the next she is just layed out on the seat.. it looked like she would have broken her back.. but she didn't even have a bruise.. God rocks) So the guy goes on with his sermon and about halfway through Sarah looks at me and (eyes huge) is like: I can hear! Its so loud!...

wow. Awesome times, awesome God!

So.. Tomorrow night we have our first song presentation, where we have to play a song we have written since we've been here.. Should be fun :)

we were out in the parking lot waiting for keys to a van so we could go home (lonnnng story). and those cones were randomly there, so i told Danny it was a puzzle... so he stood there like that for like 5 minutes.. it was funny. right after this we got a cooler out of the car and made sandwhiches in the middle of the parking lot and just sat there and ate them while we waited. Kenny (our school leader) joined us... haha..

It was a conference on "moving in the prophetic" it was pretty cool. i hadnt ever been around that type of thing before, so i learned alot, but didnt fall over when they prayed for me (though lots of people did.. it was kinda funny.. Brandon and I decided they should make a video game where you have to hit the right buttons and then the person gets "slain in the spirit".. thats what it kinda looked like.. )

anyway.. it was a good conference. we all had to work as volunteers, so i wasnt in for everything that was said, but a majority of it. for work i got to do everything from parking cars to cooking hamburgers to serving food to the speakers and more... it was an exhausting but good time.

the last day we each had the oppertunity to be prophesied over, so that was neat.. we each got a tape recording of what the peoples said... which is good, cause it went for like 10 minutes and i only remember bits and pieces of what they said.

so yeah.. good weekend..

so i am currently in LA, doing a School of Worship with YWAM. It is so amazingly amazing.. wow. God is good!
